We
are seeking PNASD RN members to be mentors to student members. Being a
mentor is a great opportunity to share your knowledge and experience
with nursing students, or new nurses. We believe that your guidance and
advice can be an invaluable part in helping students reach their
potential, and take all the steps necessary for them to succeed.
The goal of the mentorship program is to support future nurses be
successful by having someone they can turn to for advice, or someone to
aid them in their professional development. Professional development
would include reviewing resumes, portfolios, providing interview advice,
and connecting mentees with resources such as places to get
certifications, volunteer, or job experience. You can share what you
believe has made you successful within your career, or advice that has
been passed down to you. Your experience, advice, network, and guidance
are invaluable to someone who is starting their nursing journey. By
being a mentor, you have the opportunity to connect, motivate, and
encourage others, learn new perspectives, and make an impact on the
providers and PNASD leaders of the future.
